Hi,
there are some handy shortcuts to devices predefined under places. Only the shortcut "External SD card" may be customized via Preferences. But "USB Storage" should be customizable in particular too.
But "Downloads", "Pictures" etc. should be also customizable - I want to place these folders on my external SD card.

I would also like to designate at least one or more location for documents (Word, PDF, etc.). Also would like to designate one or more download folders (since different programs often download to different directories.
Hi everyone,
This is something we want to see added to ASTRO as well! It will be implemented, we just don't have a set timeframe for it yet. Having a more dynamic Places panel can really provide a better user experience and allow for more freedom and customization in ASTRO which we believe our users would love to see!
I think it gets in my way. I wish there was an option to disable it.
After I run the astro app, the splash screen shows up. I hit the file manager and a screen called places comes up. Nothing on this screen works. Internal memory, external sd card, usb storage, downloads, pictures, music, etc. It flashes when I click it but that is about it. How do I go back to the regular file manager?
Just a simple toggled PLACES ON/OFF button would be great... or, perhaps simpler yet, have ASTRO remember the setting when the user reduced (to zero) the "Places" column width by dragging the right border of the "Places" box.
I got sick of places continually getting in the way of file browsing. I just reverted back to 2.5.2. Now I got a file browser that I can actually browse files with.
In fact I don't even have to load the classic theme over the ugly new themes. Winning!
I like your thinking Scott.
I do not like Astro's "we believe our users would love" - they didn't ask me...
Now. How to get hold of an old copy
There ought to be a program preference where one can tic check boxes to display various cloud locations or not. There's a settings gear already displayed on the locations panel, it just doesn't allow one to modify the display condition of most locations.
